Standard of living Reflection

It is important to know about standard of living because standard of living can help you understand how a country is living and see if they have a low, high, or medium standard of living. This is important because it can help you see what countries need more help with meeting their basic needs and get people to be able to help them and try to fix the things that will increase the standard of living in that country. Ideas about economics and standard of living can be analyzed by using movement because if you have roadways, bridges and ports you can spread goods and services that help meet people’s basic needs. Analyzing the world with 5 themes of geography helps people understand connections between people and the earth by showing how people live with the land and share ideas around the world, for example people watch TV and look at their phones and newspapers, and the ads and news channels are sharing people's ideas . It shows how people interact with the world and adapt to their surroundings in the world, an example would be how people in Africa farm more drought resistant crops, so the climate change won’t affect their food supply as much. It helps you learn about climate and how people live in certain places. For example, people in Iceland would dress differently than people in florida because they are used to different climates. The 5 themes of geography help you understand cultures and areas that speak certain languages from learning about regions. My map skills Paragraph

Something I found easy about basic map skills is the continents and ocean titles because I had already learned about the continents and the oceans so it was just  reminding me. I also thought that the titles part of it was easy because I thought of it as book titles and they are all at the top of the map so I always know where to look for them. Something that I struggled with the most about basic map skills was the coordinates because I kept mixing up latitude with longitude and would right down the wrong coordinates because I would get them confused. I also struggled with coordinates because it was hard to estimate where someplace is if it wasn’t on one of the lines of latitude or longitude. I think that basic map skills are necessary because without them people would not be able to locate places on the world or they could look at a map and not know where it was.
